The concept of between breaths, ignoring the details of subatomic particles for a moment, seems more like a tool for our physical selves, generally consumed with senses and thoughts, to let go and more closely experience that non-physical entity The Self.

While many faiths argue that The Self can and does exist beyond the physical being, can The Self exist without The Other?  Whether your faith, or lack there of, describes The Other as being another human, animal, or supreme being, I'm not sure that one metaphysical description can exist without the other... is this not the enlightenment that is achieved, that we are all really interconnected?

(Which doesn't really answer that if you didn't exist I wouldn't either, but really... would life be any fun if we weren't in it together?)
