Adam and Eve were cast out of the Garden of Eden for defying God and losing their innocence by eating the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge. Is this story nothing more than drawing a parallel to raising a child? In essence, Adam and Eve were children of Eden and like all children had to make discoveries and find out the ways of the Garden for themselves. God placed the Tree of Knowledge in the Garden like a mother puts a fresh batch of cookies in the cookie jar. They tell the child not to eat the cookie before dinner, but usually the child disobeys and eats the cookies anyway. The child gets caught and is punished for their deed... they usually aren't cast out of the house and disowned though.
