Arianna Huffington's blog started out as a SALON where ideas were freely exchanged. In her desire to increase %u201Cchat%u201D type activity where bloggers stay tightly on-topic, she has introduced a policy of thuggery where bloggers who have been with her since start-up are purged and/or
where censorship is excessive. For example this post, which was used to initiate much discourse on BIGTHINK was purged from Huffington:

WHERE IS YOUR GOD?
-A god who walks this planet and lives among her people?
-A god that lives in a grand temple?
-A mountain god?
-A god who is the planet?
-A sky god?
-A moon god?
-A sun god?
-A god that overreaches us and forms the shell within which contains the sky, solar system and the stars?
-A god that lives in space around our solar system?
-A god that exists within our universe and floats around in the massive empty spaces between the stars?
-A god that exists somewhere within the multidimensional possibilities of the universe?
-A god that overreaches our universe and forms the shell or fabric that comprises our universe?
-A god that existed before the Big Bang and who is expressed by the fabric and creation of the dreamworld we call the universe?
-A god that exists outside of and independent of our universe?

Vincent Bugliosi has written a book about the prosecution of the Bush Administration. President Bush has abused signing statements to specifically place himself and members of his staff above laws that he has signed into place.

Give me a break! What qualifies her as an authority on anything? She starts this little diatribe with “I think” but does she? Ever?
She is so blatantly a sufferer of bush derangement syndrome she has no credibility whatsoever unless you are looking for someone who is totally focused on destroying America.

Get a grip… This is not really such a bad country…

Aside from who this lady is and her “credentials” The idea of a “Bush derangement syndrome” is laughable. The only syndrome apparent is that for some reason people are beginning to think this guy is some sort of hero. He does deserve to be charged for crimes against humanity such as torture see court case: Hamdan v. Rumsfeld, the trampling of our constitution in documents such as the military commissions act among MANY others, lets just throw in the new war “Vietnam II” which was sold to the people through big media (Rupert Murdoch even admits to this). This man has violated our trust as president time and time again. He has sold our country out to big business, privatized a war for maximum profit, squandered our country’s resources from every angle…he is an evil man that deserves a small cell in the basement of a cold prison.

How about being charged for rape, slander, murder and grand theft that he has been a party to????

… a lucid and valid opinion is neither if they disagree with it.

@FrancisWandell, what part of this seems thoughtless or mindless to you?
“I think that there’s an enormous amount that this administration has done that has violated our Constitution, that has made us less safe”
She’s “totally focused on destroying America”? Seems to me you’re a prime example of that.
Perhaps you could contend with what she actually said rather than those voices in your head.

Dear Ms Huffington- I have just read your book “The Right is Wrong” and I can say it is a clearly and well expressed litany of the outrageous sins of the Republicans during the W years. On almost every page, I have highlighted passages that should be disseminated widely because of their incisive accuracy. One particularly insightful quote is “The Right’s do-nothing response… stems from the fundamentalist notion that facts are the enemy of faith.”

Yet I understand that you have banned doing anything about unanswered questions about 911, perhaps because you believe the questions come from a lunatic fringe. On the contrary, literally thousands of highly educated and reputable professionals including architects, physicists, scholars, lawyers, medical doctors, pilots, firefighters, veterans, politicians, and families of the unfortunate victims believe that the official story has some deficiencies that need to be investigated.* To turn a deaf ear to them would demonstrate a contempt for real knowledge and expertise and, as you say, “parrot the spin of the administration.”

Not examining the facts for fear of where it might lead is akin to demonizing Darwin for fear of where his facts might lead. Do you truly believe that the problem with 911 is too much questioning of those in authority? Or do you subscribe to “When the facts are against you, attack the plaintiff.”

So, have you become victim to the fundamentalist notion that facts are the enemy of faith? If so, I’m afraid you are putting yourself in jeopardy of losing your credibility. And that would be a real shame considering your significant and important contributions to righting the wrong.
