Question: What will it take to shift society from materialism?
Andrew Cohen: Well, I think two things and I don’t know which order they come in. One would have to do with awakening to the deeper spiritual dimension of life, awakening to consciousness itself, which has a very strong-- When that happens, when we awaken directly to consciousness, our deeply ingrained materialistic values and perspectives begin to shift in a very- at the most fundamental level. So that would be one and the other I think will be- would be some kind of catastrophe in which we simply wouldn’t be able to live in the kind of abundance that many of us are used to. That would kind of force us to discover a very different relationship to life.
