In my thought the only thing that is itself is The Self. For me this is tied to the Tao, but to others it may be something diffrent. For everything there is an opposite, it sounds simple but for a lampost there is everything that is not the lampost. I guess what I think, What I am trying to articulate, is that the only thing that exsist is the space between breaths. The self that is there in absence of everything else.

Saying that the opposite of something is the lack of something is a hrad idea to wrap your head around. If the opposite of something is a void, does that mean that opposite of an idea is no idea? Assuming that to be correct, wouldn’t a loos of Self be the opposite of The Self?

Can’t nothing out of death not exist while excluding its equal?

To say that the opposite of something is the lack of that something is to say that for everything there is nothing. For the self the opposite is also the thing. This is a hard idea to put in words. I believe that the thing that exist with it’s opposite is the self in balance. The loss of self is to me an absurdity, there is no loss of self when the self still exsist. There is a change in self and hopefully a constant one, but in my belief the self is a thing that is not defined by life or death but as an entity that is defined by nothing more that what it is. Popeye says it best I am what I am and that’s all that I am.

Everything comes from Nothing, before it comes to be it is nothing, before you have an ideal it is nothing, even before you born you were nothing…. so is nothing truly nothing

nahhh. cause then there’d be nothing to compare it to.

I don’t think so; you need to have an opposite so there is something to compare the original thing to.
if that choice of words makes sense.

Light, because its opposite is not darkness since darkness is created because of light. Umm I know it made sense to me then but I just can’t phrase it properly. Anyways very busy gotta run, I might expand on this comment later on.

There could be. We just would not know it when we see it. How can existance exist if we have nothing to compare it to? Dose existance exist?

I don’t think there are really oppposites when it comes to people… there is difference, and technically we could all be uniform, I suppose.
