i agree to a certain extent, but where does the authority of one start and the other end. when should the opinion of an architect as creator pervail and where should it accomodate the vision of the client. you mention imhotep, but how do we know who ws responsible for what. In great creations such as the gardens of versailles, the back and forth between designer and king has been recorded. In master pieces such as the Salk Institute, its fascinating to read the correspondence between Jonas Salk and Louis Kahn. That brings us to a project, such as the liberty tower in Manhattan, where should the grieving families have a say about the design of the towers and the memorial. Their pain is real but does that make them experts in design? Its a particularly poignant problem in such public projects. Where do we stop the balkanization of our public domain by vociferous interest groups, and how do we stop the sometimes totalitarian imposition of a singular vision ?

there is a mechanical cause and effect in karmic theory that seems ruthless and disinterested. to counter it we have compassion for the suffering, but the root cause remains the same
